Watering Schedule

Understanding Our Watering Schedule: What to Expect This Summer
As temperatures rise, so does the need to keep our lawns and plants healthy and hydrated. At La Casa Royale, we’ve set a thoughtful watering schedule to ensure everything stays green and beautiful while using water wisely. Here’s what you need to know:

🌿 Our Watering Schedule

Our landscaping team waters the community turf and plants on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights, starting around 11:00 PM. Watering at night helps reduce evaporation and keeps your lawns and landscapes thriving through the summer heat.

🌱 Why Bermuda Grass Needs Special Care

Our community uses Bermuda grass, a warm-season grass that thrives in full sun but struggles in shaded areas—especially under large trees like our Ficus. If you’ve noticed thin or bare patches beneath these trees, it’s because Bermuda grass doesn’t receive enough direct sunlight to grow well there. While we’ve made strategic adjustments to help with this, some shady spots may continue to look sparse due to the natural limitations of the grass type.

⏱ Irrigation Zones and Timers

Our irrigation system is split into zones, and each zone is controlled by timers that rotate watering duties.

  • Zones 1–10 control most of the grass sprinklers and are managed across four separate timers. These zones water for 10 minutes each.
  • Zones 11–16 are typically reserved for the drip system, which targets shrubs and plants. These zones water for 6 minutes each.
  • Additionally, three zones in the community are on battery-operated timers. These areas may run on a slightly different schedule from the main system, so you might notice some watering activity at unusual times—that’s normal!

💡 A Helpful Tip: If your lawn is in Zone 1 and your drip system is in Zone 12, your drip irrigation won’t begin immediately after your sprinklers shut off. The system runs sequentially from Zone 1 through Zone 16. That means it’ll water Zones 2 through 11 before reaching your drip zone. So, be patient—it’s coming!
